A New Jersey woman died Monday morning in a crash on Interstate 78.
Ciarra Sanchez, 19, of Saddle Brook Township died in a crash near mile marker 60 in Upper Saucon Township, state police said in a news release. Police were initially called to the area just after midnight after they received a call that her phone had been pinging in that same location for two hours.
When police got to the scene, her vehicle was found about 100 feet from the road, according to the release. The vehicle had hit a concrete bridge pillar, officials said.
Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene about 1:30 a.m., according to the Lehigh County coroner’s office.
Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said her cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries, with the manner accidental.
State police are investigating.
