The Lehigh County coroner on Monday identified skeletal remains found Friday as those of an Allentown man.

Michael Morrissey, 33, was identified through comparative dental analysis and other forensic methods, Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said.

He was pronounced dead at 10:33 a.m. Friday in the 1200 block of South Eighth Street, near an underpass close to Trout Creek Park, according to Buglio. His remains were found earlier Friday in woods in the area.

Morrissey was last seen alive on or about July 27, and was reported as a missing person to Allentown police Aug. 8 by family members, Buglio said.

An autopsy was conducted Monday, but the cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, Buglio said. Police and the coroner’s office are investigating.
