ArtsQuest is reaching for the stars with its Musikfest 2024 poster.
The Bethlehem arts organization Monday unveiled the poster created by local artist Lauren Beck. It features a nighttime sky with illustrations of constellations depicting instruments and other features of the annual music festival.
At the center of the poster is an anthropomorphism of the moon.
“When imagining the poster design, I tapped into my deep love for experiencing live music at festivals and concerts,” Beck said in an ArtsQuest news release. “When seeing bands play, I enjoy feeling connected to the world around me in a transcendent way.”
ArtsQuest CEO and President Kassie Hilgert said the poster “showcases how Musikfest transforms during the night.”
The poster, while largely created digitally, includes hand-painted elements, according to the news release.
Beck, of Allentown, is a resident artist at ArtsQuest’s Banana Factory Arts Center and teaches workshops, after-school programs and summer camps.
2024 will mark 40 years since the first Musikfest in 1984, though ArtsQuest marked the anniversary with the 40th edition of the festival this year. The 10-day festival set a record attendance of 1.33 million visitors.
The 2024 festival will be held Aug. 2-11, with a special preview night Aug. 1.
